SVG to WEBP
The WebP result is static and re-encoded at the selected quality, with compatible transparency preserved. A smaller file is not guaranteed; compare the downloaded result with the source.

Practical guide
WEBP turns a validated vector graphic into a raster image with adjustable quality and compatible transparency. It is a publishing copy with fixed dimensions, not an editable replacement for SVG.
Rendering starts from safe SVG dimensions and allows the output size to be adjusted. Curves and text then become pixels, so enlarging the WEBP later cannot restore the vector's resolution independence.
Scripts, embedded images, local files, external styles and remote resources are rejected before rendering. The engine uses versioned fonts; if the design depends on another typeface, inspect line breaks, widths and alignment.
WEBP retains compatible transparency, but its quality setting can affect gradients, small text and translucent edges. For a raster copy without that lossy control, compare SVG to PNG at the same dimensions.
Check that the browser, CMS or platform accepts WEBP and keep SVG as the editable source. If the destination only accepts a widespread opaque image, SVG to JPG has a different boundary and flattens transparency.
No. SVG is rasterized at specific dimensions. WEBP can look sharp at that size but no longer scales like a vector graphic.
No. Scripts, remote or local resources, embedded images and external styles are blocked before isolated rendering.
Yes, when the SVG produces compatible transparency. Inspect translucent edges because the chosen quality can influence their appearance.
