Practical guide
Converting a PDF to JPG creates one separate image for every selected page. Page selection, resolution and quality should match the final use because the output no longer retains document features.
Formotra rasterizes the complete visible page, including text, graphics and photographs. It neither extracts embedded images nor joins the document into one long strip; every selected page produces its own JPG file.
Select only the pages you need and choose 96, 144 or 200 DPI for the intended reading size. More DPI gives small text more pixels but also increases processing and file size; it cannot restore detail absent from the PDF.
JPG is lossy and suits photographs or pages that do not need transparency. For fine type, diagrams or hard edges, compare it with PDF to PNG, which does not introduce JPG compression artefacts.
The JPG no longer contains selectable text, links, forms or editable layers, and this conversion does not run OCR. Keep the source document; when the task is to collect photographs into a document, use JPG to PDF rather than making an unnecessary round trip.
No. Each selected page is rasterized as a separate JPG, and the results follow the original page order.
No. Visible text becomes image pixels. This conversion does not perform OCR or preserve links and forms.
Encrypted PDFs are rejected. Use a copy you are legitimately allowed to unlock before converting, and keep the original separately.
