RAW to JPG
JPG uses lossy compression with adjustable quality. Transparent areas are flattened onto white; keep the original if you need its transparency or original detail.

Practical guide
A RAW file holds capture data that needs developing before it becomes a common photograph. Formotra creates an 8-bit sRGB JPG through a fixed process. The copy is useful for opening or sharing the picture, while the digital negative remains essential for manual editing.
This page accepts supported DNG, CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, RAF, ORF and RW2 files. The structure and camera must be compatible with the pinned decoder. Renaming a file does not make it compatible or turn another image into RAW.
An allowed extension cannot guarantee support for every camera. A file that cannot be safely validated or developed is rejected instead of producing a partial or silently damaged photograph.
The negative is developed as an 8-bit sRGB image and uses the camera white balance when it is available. The process does not apply adjustments from your photo catalogue, an editor-specific profile or manual colour work.
The JPG can therefore differ from the camera preview or from Lightroom, Capture One and other RAW editors. The converter provides a compatible, repeatable copy, not a creative interpretation of the photograph.
JPG uses adjustable lossy compression. Dimensions are retained unless you choose another size, but the conversion cannot recover clipped highlights, missing detail or data that the decoder cannot interpret.
Review colour, exposure, noise, focus and gradients in the download. If an application specifically requires PNG, RAW to PNG creates an 8-bit copy, although it still does not retain the editing range of the negative.
The JPG does not include EXIF, XMP, IPTC or GPS coordinates from the input. That removal may help when sharing, but it also discards capture information that you might need later.
Always keep the original RAW file and its backups. For an image intended for a website, compare RAW to WEBP. To place a visible copy in a document, use RAW to PDF. None of these outputs replaces the negative.
No. Supported DNG, CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, RAF, ORF and RW2 files are accepted, but an allowed extension does not guarantee compatibility with every camera.
Formotra uses fixed 8-bit sRGB development and does not apply profiles, catalogues or personal adjustments from other software.
No. A separate JPG copy is created. The result does not retain the editable negative or its capture metadata.
